HWA New England is a regional chapter of the national association for professional horror authors, The Horror Writers Association. HWA New England functions primarily as a networking organization for local authors.

News from Laura Cooney
"THE RUBEE" ONLINE NOW
Laura Cooney's new story, "The Rubee" just went up online this week on the webzine THREE-LOBED BURNING EYE. It's a very dark little piece about a rather dysfunctional relationship. You can check out the story here.

COONEY RECEIVES HONORABLE MENTION IN THE YEAR'S BEST FANTASY & HORROR
Cooney's story, "Number 808" (originally appearing in LULLABY HEARSE #5), received an Honorable Mention in the 18th edition (the 18th) of THE YEAR'S BEST FANTASY & HORROR, edited by Ellen Datlow, Kelly Link & Gavin J. Grant.

This is the second time Laura has received an Honorable Mention in THE YEAR'S BEST FANTASY & HORROR. The first time was for her story, "Wasps" in the Sixteenth Edition.

Cooney's short story, "The Rubee", has been published in the webzine THREE-LOBE BURNING EYE. Click here to read it.
